Well, I’m back at school. Things are going to be different this semester – one of my roommates has moved out, I’m taking a much heavier courseload than I’m used to… just a lot of stuff, it seems, is different from last semester. And after a month, it’s just weird weird weird to be back here as if the last four weeks hadn’t happened.
I hope to assuage the weirdness by cooking extensively. The only silver lining about there being only 3 roommates living here now is that there’s a lot more kitchen storage available, and I’m the only one now who does a lot of cooking. I stocked up on basics today at the farmers’ market in Marietta – chicken stock, tomato sauce, olive oil, fresh and dried herbs, cinnamon, spinach, carrots, potatoes, grapes, green beans, sauce mixes (gravy and hollandaise), marinade and spice packs, good cheese, all kinds of good stuff.
Lance wants to make spaghetti tonight. I got him some crimini mushrooms for it. Maybe he’ll get back to normal by cooking. He’s been acting strange. No doubt that’s just adding to the weirdness.
I’m going to finish unpacking and try to reclaim this environment.
